Emily-Rose Cripps

Emily-Rose Cripps is a second year Graphic Design student at Oxford Brookes University. Her artwork is based in both the digital and physical medium as she likes to experiment and get her hands dirty. Bright and bold colours feature heavily in her work as she tries to portray the richness that the world has to offer.

Inspired by Edinburgh Zoo’s daily penguin parade, Emily-Rose’s sculpture aims to delight and inspire the viewer to learn more about the life and plight of the world’s penguin population. These beautiful, flightless birds can waddle their way into anyone’s heart. The illustration showcases three species of penguin, Gentoo, King and Rockhopper in their most natural of habitats – the ocean, where they are at their most agile and graceful.
