WhimSicAL LusH

Suzanne Scott is an artist and illustrator based in Dundee working under the name WhimSicAL LusH. She loves nothing more than to tell illustrated stories inspired by childhood memories, exploring, nature and those little things in life that so often pass us by. She creates unique, quirky illustrations that feature on ranges of prints, stationery, homeware, accessories and more.

Suzanne helps businesses both large and small tell their stories too, with work appearing on bottles, backdrops and large walls. She has also secured prominence as a public artist with projects such as Dundee’s Discovery Walk in Dundee’s new waterfront and has been part of several public art trails, including both Oor Wullie’s Bucket Trails and Maggie’s Penguin Parade, where she was art director and trail artist too. Her work has raised in excess of £150,000 for charity. Suzanne’s work has also featured in several exhibitions and there a number of shops and galleries throughout Scotland stocking her work, as well as selling in person at events and online.

Suzanne’s first sculpture on the trail is Cosy Bosies. There’s nothing nicer than cosying up in your favourite jumper when you’re feeling chilly! It’s like putting on a big ‘bosie’, which is one of Suzanne’s favourite Scottish words, meaning cuddle! She thought that her giraffe might quite love a cosy jumper as she’s come from hot Africa to an often very chilly Scotland. She’s a long way from home in Edinburgh, so a nice big bosie will definitely help alleviate any homesickness too. Suzanne can also often be found wearing her own favourite big cosy red jumper in the WhimSicAL LusH studio… just like her giraffe.

Her second sculpture, Skinny Malinky Long Legs, was delighted when she met the fun loving, flamboyant flock of long-legged flamingos at the zoo. She was no longer the odd one out amongst the animals. She loved the otters, hippos and the penguins too, but they were always teasing her about her reeeeeeally long legs. It wasn’t her fault that they couldn’t keep up when they were exploring. She always suspected that they were just jealous! Skinny Malinky Long Legs was voted for by the Forth 1 Listeners after a campaign to find the best name was launched by the Boogie In The Morning breakfast show. This brilliant winning entry was submitted by Faye Sherlock from Livingston.
