Double Deco: Giraffe of the Day

Sculpture Name: Double Deco

Artist Name: Mik Richardson

Location: Ocean Terminal

Sponsor Name: Fujitsu

This stunning giraffe is inspired by artist Mik Richardson’s favourite art period, Art Deco. The design of Double Deco incorporates many of the features that can still be seen today from historic pieces from the movement, as well as some of the other famous classic Art Deco inspired designs from the 20th century.

Mik Richardson is a Norfolk-based artist who has run his own art business since leaving the RAF in 2006. As well as producing over 400 murals, privately, in the community and in schools, he has also been involved in many of the public art trails across the country and has painted 91 Wild in Art sculptures to date.

Sponsored by Fujitsu, the sculpture name also speaks for itself. At eight-foot-tall, the giraffe is huge  but double the space, double the deco!

Fujitsu is a global IT organisation, who are passionate about delivering excellent service to their customers every day. Not only this but their people live and breathe their global purpose to make the world more sustainable by building trust in society through innovation.
