People’s Postcode Lottery

Charities and good causes are at the heart of People’s Postcode Lottery.

People’s Postcode Lottery manages lotteries for 20 Postcode Trusts and a minimum of 33% from each ticket goes to charities and good causes. Players have raised over £900 million for more than 9,000 charities and good causes across Britain and beyond since 2005.

People’s Postcode Lottery helps tell the stories of supported charities, sharing the incredible impact that lottery funding has, and increase awareness of their work.

Funding raised by players is bringing clean water to some of the world’s poorest communities, tackling loneliness and social isolation, ending youth unemployment, promoting the rights of women and girls, supporting those living with cancer and their families and protecting wildlife and habitats. And much more.

By supporting the communities that we are all part of, players are helping realise positive and lasting change.

Much of the funding raised by players is unrestricted, flexible, and long term. This allows charities to use the money where it is needed most and in areas where it will have the biggest possible impact.

Players of People’s Postcode Lottery have raised £2.9 million to support the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland and its work to protect wildlife in Scotland and across the world.

The funding, awarded through Postcode Planet Trust, has also enabled the charity to support people to connect with nature through a range of discovery and learning initiatives at Edinburgh Zoo.
